Cotton Bed Linen

Washing

It is advised that you launder cotton bed linen at least once a week on a warm wash setting using a gentle laundering detergent. Washing on a setting of at least 40 degrees will help to kill dust mites and assist those with allergies. Laundering your cottons is fine, except where dry cleaning is advised on the care label. (Dry cleaning is advised for products such as cotton blankets and matelassé coverlets.) Wash your cotton bed linen separately and separate the light and dark colours. Always rinse well at the end of the wash cycle.

Detergent

Using a gentle laundering detergent will help to preserve your bed linen. Keep your whites white by using a detergent with brightening agents, such as a product like Napisan. For coloured cottons use a gentle detergent that does not contain whiteners and/or optical brighteners as this will fade and compromise the colour.

Drying

Always check care instructions on the product label before laundering. Line drying cottons is preferable, and most pure cotton bed linens can be tumble dried on a warm setting.
